What You’ll Discover Here: Welcome

Welcome! I’m so glad you decided to join me on this exciting new chapter in our lives. Being an empty nester can be scary, frustrating, depressing and sad, all emotions that can lead us to make unhealthy choices. We’re walking a new path in life and not sure of the road.

Healthy Empty Nest is the one place you can go to connect and where I can relate to how you’re feeling.

Just a little about me before we get to the fun stuff. I’m a 50-something mom to three grown sons, the grandmother of 5 living kids and an aunt to many. I’ve spent the last 35 years taking care of everyone else. I’ve been mostly a stay at home mom, being there to take my kids to ball practice, after-school events, be the leader in their cub scout pack, and the all-around mom to their friends.

Up until recently I always had a full house. My sons lived with me, then my mother moved in when my youngest had just moved out. Then he returned within a couple of years bringing along his young family, staying for over 6 years. My mom passed away in January of 2016, my youngest and his family moved out within 6 months of that. Suddenly I had a very empty nest.

Now I’m on my journey to make this the healthiest, happiest time of my life.

I want to thank you for trusting me to go on this journey with you.

What you can expect from me:

I hope to help you learn that being healthy is more than taking care of your body.

Having a healthy empty nest means being happy in all areas of your life:

  • Mind
  • Body
  • Spiritual
  • Relationships
  • Emotional
  • It’s about finding yourself again after all this time
  • It’s about filling your time with things you enjoy to create a healthy mind and spirit.
  • It’s about taking care of you!

My mission is to guide you, pull you, tug you into the best version of you that you can be. I want to make you smile, see you laugh, watch you become empowered while embracing this new phase.

What Will You Discover Here?

Together we’re going to explore new things, have adventures, cry a little (or a lot) and laugh a lot.

Some of the things I talk about include:

  • traveling as a couple or alone
  • cooking for one or two
  • learning new hobbies
  • getting out of your comfort zone
  • taking care of yourself
  • gardening
  • decorating
  • books
  • grandkids
  • relationships
  • family struggles
  • and so much more

Life is about family sure, but it’s also about you being the best you.

I’d love for you to be a part of my Facebook group, https://www.facebook.com/groups/carolsemptynest/. It’s a private group so what’s shared is only for members eyes only!

Let’s be Kind,
Carol
